WELCOME:

Welcome to Mr. Brown's class page, and I will be teaching Algebra 2. Here are the general guidelines and classroom expectations. Some guidelines may change due to extenuating circumstances.

COURSE SUPPLIES:
          Composition Notebook with grid paper

Pencils

Chromebook or device (checked out from library and all assignments will be given through Canvas)

COURSE EXPECTATIONS:

            Safe

            Ownership

            Accountable

            Respect

GRADING POLICY: Daily Grades(50%): homework, notes, in-class assignments, and quizzes.  Major Grades (50%): tests, projects, polished drafts

  • HOMEWORK & QUIZZES: Homework and quizzes are due the same and will be given daily on Canvas, so a Chromebook or device will be needed everyday. Homework will be left opened until Sunday night of the week in which they were assigned without points being taken away . Only exceptions will be the end of the Grading Period. I will notify you of the exceptions.
  • LATE WORK: Technological issues are not an exception to this rule. I have given enough notice prior to the due date.  Late work is defined as any work not turned in by the end of the last day of the given week. (Do not let your work stack up.)

Late homework/quizzes may be submitted based on policy set forth by the Student Handbook. Late work will not be accepted passed the maximum allowed days set forth by the Student Handbook. Failed major assignments can be re-test or corrected for a maximum grade of a 70%.  This also must be done within three class period of the assigned date of the retake.

  • MAKE-UP WORK: One key to success in this class, as well as in other classes, is attendance. However, if absent, it is your responsibility to gather and complete the work you missed. If you are absent on the due date of a standing assignment (meaning you knew about it before your absence), the work is due immediately upon your return. If you are absent for a test or quiz, it must be made up the day of your return in tutorials. This is to ensure that we can discuss work in a timely manner. You will receive the number of days missed to complete work. In the case of pre-scheduled activities such as sporting competitions and field trips, the work is to be completed and turned in BEFORE THE ABSENCE. ALL WORK is on Canvas, so it can be turned in electronically.
  • EXCEPTIONS: Exceptions are made due to extenuating circumstances as in hospitalization, concussions, unforeseen natural disaster, and family emergency.
  • ACADEMIC DISHONESTY: If you are caught cheating (or doing another's work), you will be turned in to the

TARDIES: Follow the student handbook.

TUTORIALS: A schedule will be announced in class and announced on Canvas of any changes.

ELIGIBILITY WAIVERS – Will follow LHS’s policy.

STUDENT HANDBOOK:  Students will follow Lampasas High School policies.  Please review the handbook especially on items such as dress code, being tardy, and late work.

ASYNCHRONOUS (Distance Learners & Homebound) & DAEP:

As in class, your daily assignments will be required daily.
