Hi! I am Shaylyn Meyerhoff! I grew up in Burnet, Tx and was a Burnet Bulldog! Don't worry! I am really excited to be teaching here in Lampasas and my family is ready to be BADGERS!!! 

     As a child, I grew up in the pig barn. I showed market and breeding swine from about 5 years old through my senior year. My passion was showing breeding gilts.  I loved showing at the major stockshows: Heart of Texas, Ft Worth, San Angelo, San Antonio, and occasionally, Houston. If I wasn't in the pig barn, I was on the football field as a student athletic trainer in high school. My primary love; however, was always FFA. I competed on LDE and CDE teams including: Chapter Conducting, Livestock Judging, and Forage Judging. My team went to state twice in Forage judging and I was in the top 10 as an individual, which allowed me to letter through FFA.

     After graduation, I attended Angelo State University where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Ag Science and Leadership with a minor in Secondary Education. I took a semester off and went to live in Kansas where I worked on a commercial swine farm for 6 months before moving back to San Angelo and attending grad school at Angelo State and receiving a Master of Science in Animal Science. 

     This is my fifth year teaching Agriculture. I taught in Stanton, TX for 3 years and then moved to Lockhart and taught there for a year before having my son Maverick. I took a year off teaching to stay home with my baby, but I soon realized that I missed teaching. So, here we are back close to home and ready to settle down and raise our family!

     I hope to inspire my students and help them realize just how diverse and important the agriculture industry is. They will always know when they are in my room that they are cared for and that I always want the best for them. I'm looking forward to a great year here in Lampasas!
