In the Video and Animation courses are designed as production classes. They both give students hands on and real life projects to gain experience in the Video and Animation fields. Both of these classes are structured to cover all of the TEKs in a hands on project production format. By doing this, students get real world experience on Video and Animation productions from beginning to end. Their projects throughout the year are used in UIL Film, in the school, for the community, and just for the kids to create an extensive portfolio of works.

In Animation, students create original digital animations and stop motion animations.  These are the course that works on the animation entries for the UIL Film competition and Produce LBTV.

In the Video course, we work on the weekly production of LBTV as well as UIL Narratives & Documentaries.  We have been fortunate to have some success in the film program. We have placed in all film categories at State including the State Champion Narrative in 2015.  We were also selected  to be in the 2016 Austin Film Festival,  our documentary about the hit and run boating death of JR Roberts in 2002 called, "The Ripple Effect" premiered at the Galaxy Theater in Austin.

Over the years not only do we focus on UIL film, but we have had the opportunity to work closely with the community, going back to 2007 when we created videos for Bill Bush, former Lampasas Principal, Johnny "Lam" Jones and his locker room project, and working with he Lampasas Preservation society on a 1958 Flood video in 2008. We welcome working with the community and more recently have done films like We Believe in Lampasas, an HGTV community submission for the Lampasas  Historical Commission and the Lampasas County Museum's exhibit, Hullabaloo Caneck Caneck!
