Year at a glance:

1st 9 Weeks:  Chemical Level of Organization, Cellular Level of Organization, Tissue Level of Organization

2nd 9 Weeks:  Integumentary System, Bone Tissue, Skeletal System, 

3rd 9 Weeks:  Skeletal System, Joints, Muscle Tissue, Muscular System, Nervous System

4th 9 Weeks:  Circulatory System, Endocrine System, Reproductive Systems

Course Overview:

Anatomy and physiology is a 4th year science course to study body systems (integumentary, skeletal, muscular, nervous, endocrine, cardiovascular, respiratory, urinary, and reproductive) and how they work together.  Course format will include reading, discussion, lab work (including multiple dissections).  This course is beneficial for those wishing to pursue a medical career. It is mandatory to maintain a consistent work ethic, perform and evaluate laboratory experiments, and read and evaluate technical information to be successful in this course.  Dissections are mandatory, and will be handled with respect and decorum.  If you are not capable of this, please request a schedule change.  

Required Materials: 

  • 1 Composition Book
  • Basic School supplies (pen/pencil are required, scissors, glue, and/or markers would be helpful)
  • 1 package of Lysol disinfectant wipes (or similar)
  • 1 package colored pencils (at least 24) (may be used for other classes, to be kept with student, not in classroom)
  • 1 box of disposable gloves (nitrile is best, available at auto parts stores, beauty supply stores, Harbor Freight, etc….)

Class Rules:  

  • Be Prompt.  (if not, get a tardy slip from the office)
  • Be Prepared.  (bring all materials every day)
  • Be Present.  (no phones, no earbuds, no food, no leaving)
  • Be A Good Human.  (respect people-including their choices and property)
