The three primary tools of an actor are the BODY, the VOICE and the IMAGINATION. Although the script is a fourth tool, it is not part of the individual person. Theatre classes will break down actor training into specific exercises to enhance performance in areas defined as stage, presentation, interviews and competitions. Students will use their knowledge of performance, after they graduate from high school, in presenting themselves to the general public through interviews for jobs and college.
We will cover theatre history, theatre terminology, modern trends in theatre, technical aspects, playwriting, directing and production. This class is aligned 100% with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS).
Students will learn through doing. Two performances, minimum, per the school year is our goal.
PLEASE SEE YAG ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE PAGE FOR MORE DETAILED INFORMATION PER INDIVIDUAL CLASS.
